Make quotations comparable
State what will be renewed, what remains and which problems must be solved. Add photos, dimensions and a simple layout so quotations can use the same assumptions.
Ask what is included, what is excluded and how unexpected additional work will be assessed and documented.
- Clear scope and floor plan
- Included and excluded work
- Rules for changes and additional work
Check materials and the home
Before work begins, confirm that important products are present, complete and undamaged. Compare model numbers and technical drawings with the agreed layout.
Discuss access, protection, storage, waste and temporary facilities so the first working day does not begin with logistical questions.
Make handover part of the plan
At the end, review every agreed part systematically: drainage, taps, toilet, lighting, ventilation, joints, sealant, doors and drawers.
Record any remaining points and ask which maintenance instructions or product documents should be retained.
